Find a company that actually knows what they are doing

Horrible experience. Was sent four random components out of 14. I was the told I actually ordered something different on a different date and that this imaginary order was out of stock. I finally got to the point where I just wanted my money back and to return the 4 random parts. It took nearly 2 hours speaking with customer service to get this resolved. I will never recommend this company.

Ring software needs complete overhaul

Ring software needs complete overhaul. No matter what I do it detects pets even with the smart function on. It says pets are people. Good footage let down by poor software. Don’t spend your money on this product. I have three cameras and wish I had never bought them.

Terrible customer service

The products are OK, but if you need to use their customer service, think again. It is truly shocking. The custom service staff have no power to do anything to resolve issues. I had a missing part. I have been told three times that they will send me a replacement part and each time after the two weeks that you have to wait (for it to be processed) it gets cancelled.

I caught an intruder Monday 3rd May 2021, I am not going to comment on the criminal actions of the person involved as subject to Police investigation.
Also the individual was not captured as a result of any door-bell type camera.
There is something very important however to warn anyone purchasing any type of security camera for protecting your property.
Obviously the first one is do you have permission, not getting bogged down by that, But the more important part is this.
The person involved stole all of the Door Bell push buttons mounted on the door or frame, the indivual only has to cover their faces and you have no clue who took them, only footage of the removal of your door bell.
Yes I know they are handy for deliveries, but also handy for protecting your property.
I have been looking for a door spy-hole camera, I do not mean some mickey mouse cheap made Chinese job.
I want one that has infra red Night vision capability but cannot seem to find anything.
Yes of course all the crim has to do is stick something over the lens..
That does not bother me as they do not know there are Pin hole cameras placed, hence these were how the criminal was caught because they were looking at the CCTV cameras they could see but didn't know about the Pin Hole cameras.
My point is do you want to shell out like 80 or 200.00 on a doorbell camera only for someone to steal the camera and your items?
There has to be another way where these cameras cannot be easily removed, better the unit behind the door and just a lens exposed somewhere out of reach.
Just watching this Criminal person and how easily this person removed those doorbells.
Around 5x doorbells were taken from neighbours door frames.
Yes these were normal doorbell push boxes, but this person was taking no chances In case they were fitted with a pin hole camera.
Numb nuts Criminal picked on the wrong guy and missed the pin hole cameras that were live filming that persons criminal activity.
I was in the security division so know exactly how to protect, But, Like i have said its an Infra Red door spy, wired or Wi-Fi I need that doesn't eat batteries.
A good quality unit that can be attached to a CCTV system or one that runs say on a high capacity mini SD Card.

Worst customer experience I've ever had with a company

I ordered and paid for 3 cameras. I got 1. When I contacted ring they told me to contact the shipping carrier. Really? I kept calling back complaining and they said "your case has been escalated" Week later, no response and they actually blocked me from chatting with them because I got upset. So I took it to my credit card and Paypal and filed a dispute. Thankfully, they saw that RIng is a joke and refunded my money. I will never buy another ring product in my life. Horrible company.

"Someone will get back to you in 24/48hrs" lies

I honestly don't understand how Ring can be an branch of Amazon. Ring customer service falls well below the for infamous telecommunication customer services. Order hundred of dollars on Ring alarm system and there was two missing door sensors totaling only $40 so why has it been 2.5 weeks, multiple calls, multiple redirects and multiple promises have come up empty. To sum it up, they don't care about helping you. I'm still missing my sensors to complete my security system design but I'm dreading another call even if it's just for principal. My recommendation is to buy your Ring products through Amazon or local stores like Costco. Don't go through Ring.com. Avoid at all cost

Misleading

I misinterpreted the storage of vidoes. I thought it meant they would archive your videos. Little did I know that they would also turn off my local storage. I cannot see who is at the door unless I buy their plans.
And don't think you can just turn on the live video option. It takes so long to start that by the time it comes up there is no action at the front door.
Basically a totally useless device.

Bad bad company

I am completely disgusted with Ring.com. I have rung them probably 12 times over the course of 2 weeks and each time they have said they will ring me back or email but they never do. To cut a long story short, I was in an abusive relationship but the property was my house. I bought the camera for my now ex-partner as a christmas present and it was registered in his name. Now 2 years later he has moved out but will not sign the contract over to me so he has video access to me everyday, can turn off the security whenever he feels like even though the property is mine and I pay the monthly subscription. You say, take the cameras down, buy new ones, but this I cannot afford and I don't want to have no security at all .... catch 22. I have requested Ring transfer the contract over to me or cancel the other contract and reassign the cameras to me but 18 days later nothing. I am a vulnerable woman living on her own with an ex-partner who can monitor her comings and goings at any time day or night, surely this is not acceptable in this day and age. The first couple of customer service advisors were laughing at me and suggested I took the cameras down and threw them away ..... very helpful. Advice ..... do not buy from Ring or expect any empathy or sympathy for the situation you find yourselves in.

3 months and 5 phones calls to ring…

3 months and 5 phones calls to ring support. Constantly disconnecting. Records when it wants. Waste of money. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Asked for a refund off Ring.com and offered a replacement that I had to wait 14 days for and pay until I returned the faulty one. Again, don’t waste your money.

You can do everything the Ring product does with standard IP Cameras, and more. But you do need to be a bit more tech savvy to install it and set it up, with an App on your phone which is not as slick as the Ring one. I've done it, and when one of my cameras failed (after 5 years) I bought Ring on the back of seeing their advertising. Not a good choice.
